Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do we take insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider, and we do not accept insurance directly. Payment is collected at time of service, and we provide a monthly Superbill for you to submit to insurance should you have out-of-network benefits. Check with your insurance to learn more about your coverage.
  • What are our rates?
Rate information varies by provider and based on service provided. Sliding scale options are available via services delivered from predoctoral psychology externs (students) who are under supervision with Dr. Cody and Dr. Nicole Alicino (training staff). For more information, please contact us.
  • Do you offer virtual / telehealth services?
At this time, we offer both in-person and virtual therapy and evaluation services. Dr. Cody sees clients who reside in either New York State or Connecticut. Dr. Lobue sees clients who reside in New York State. Due to state licensing laws, we are unable to provide telehealth services to residents of other states.
  • How long does the evaluation process typically take?
Evaluations generally begin with a 60- to 90-minute consultation during which we obtain a history and work to develop an individualized evaluation plan. Evaluation plans vary based upon age, reason for referral, and purpose of evaluation. Following the initial consultation a plan as well as an evaluation agreement will be provided to clarify the total anticipated costs associated with the evaluation process. Evaluation appointments are generally scheduled over an additional 1-2 days depending on the duration of the evaluation. We generate a written report (length varies based on evaluation need), and we provide a 60- to 90-minute feedback meeting during which we verbally review the results, your strengths and needs, any resulting diagnoses, and recommendations for what to do next. Written report follows the feedback meeting.
  • Can I get an evaluation completed virtually?
If you are a resident of either New York State or Connecticut, virtual evaluation options can be provided depending on the nature of the purpose of the evaluation. If you reside in any other state, due to current state licensing laws, the evaluation must occur in person in the office.
  • Are there typically wait lists?
There are often wait lists, and the length of the wait list varies by provider. We do our best to communicate anticipated wait times when possible.
  • What if I can't afford an evaluation?
Sliding scale evaluation services are available under Dr. Cody & Dr. Alicino’s supervision with our predoctoral psychology externs. We will work with you to identify a fee that works within your budget to the best of our abilities. Please note, there are wait lists for extern evaluations.
  • Do we offer other referral sources?
If we are not the right fit for your needs, we will work to make sure we provide referral information to a provider who is. Not all clinicians are the right fit for all people, and we are aware of that and aim to provide recommendations and referrals for clinicians of best fit.
