About Dr. Cody

Kate Cody, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist in both New York State and Connecticut, offering a unique expertise in working with Autistic individuals from a neurodiversity-affirming lens. Dr. Cody is currently in full time private practice, with an office located in Midtown Manhattan and virtual services also available. Dr. Cody specializes in providing psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to individuals of all ages and in offering therapy services to Autistic individuals with co-occurring mental health needs. Her clinical process has been informed by Autistic individuals, and she continues to evolve her approach while taking into account individualized needs and incorporation of the Autistic voice from the community. 


Dr. Cody welcomes complex differential diagnosis diagnostic evaluations and is a sought-after clinician, particularly for adults searching for a first-time diagnosis. She works from a neurodiversity-affirming lens to assist her clients with understanding their diagnosis and recognize their strengths and their needs. She aims to clarify and guide her clients in understanding and removing barriers that are hindering one’s ability to succeed. Dr. Cody also offers outpatient psychotherapy for individuals and families, utilizing an evidence-based integrative therapeutic approach with foundations in cognitive behavioral therapy, integrating several different skills and techniques to tailor treatment to each one of her client’s needs. Dr. Cody also welcomes her client’s family and loved ones into treatment, helping each member of the unit thrive. Dr. Cody brings her expertise to school aged children, offering independent educational evaluations, and consultations in different school districts for students with ASD, in need of supports. She also offers community trainings, helping to educate the public and other clinicians on ASD and co-occurring mental health conditions. Dr. Cody enjoys supervising interns and externs in educational and clinical psychology, and she maintains a predoctoral externship training program as a part of her practice. Dr. Cody brings enthusiasm, honesty, and compassion to her work, every day, making treatment affirming and individualized for her clients.
